Bridal Models GTG – Arrowhead CA

A HUGE thanks to Elizabeth Luna for putting in so much time and hard work to make this photo shoot so awesome!  I love the outdoors, so this photo shoot was right up my alley.  And there were so many good friends there!  I had a great time, everyone…

Okay so, image time.  To everyone who contributed to this event, the flowers, the dresses, the makeup, the models, I’ll be hooking you up with some portfolio images asap!  :-)

(Images were all shot on my D200, with my Sigma 50-150, since, to be honest, that’s the only piece of equipment I have right now, the rest of it is all in for service.  Winter cleaning, ya know!)

January 18, 2010 - 1:42 AM Hoang - Wow Matt, that snow thrown in the shot is awesome. You should really get to doing some shots with artificial rain ;]. And the last photo.. EPIC. Looks like it was a great shoot! Sometime's it's nice to have less gear isn't it? I know I have the most fun when I am just going around with a 50 or 58 prime.

January 23, 2010 - 7:31 PM Michael Kapassakis - Your work is all fake. You can obviously produce beautiful images if you're not under the pressure of a clock. Beautiful yes, but it's only because it's all staged. Staged = Fake = ZERO RATING. Just calling it as I see it. FAKE.

January 26, 2010 - 3:47 PM Jessica Conroy - Great job Matt! especially the last one!

January 26, 2010 - 4:06 PM Katie - Even if an image is "fake" you've still got to be good enough to take it... :D Great job Matt, your work always impresses and I am happy to know you!

January 30, 2010 - 10:56 AM Katie Pike - I am sorry but M. Kapassakis does not know anything. Any truly good Wedding Photographer does model shoots. It is a time to grow and experiment with your photography skills. A time to try things you would not do at a wedding. The BEST photographers in the world are constantly doing model shoots. I would not hire a wedding photographer who did not spend the time and money to do these so called "fake" shoots. If they don't, then they probably don't have a passion for the work that they do. Matthew keep your passion alive and don't let hacks get you down :)

February 4, 2010 - 10:34 AM Priscilla - To: Michael Kapassakis I was feeling nostalgic for the day I got married and so headed to Matt's link of my beautiful and REAL wedding photos. As I perused his blog I read about this inane comment of yours. Matt's an amazing photographer who does incredible work ON and OFF the clock! In fact, one of my favorite pictures was during a rushed transition at my wedding, when he only had a second to frame the shot before the moment was lost. The resulting picture encapsulated everything I felt about my wedding day. It made me and my new husband feel beautiful and also highlighted the magical location where we wed. I would hire him again in a second. Priscilla Aniff, June 2008.

February 4, 2010 - 6:02 PM Ed - Really nice work. Your post processing is vibrant and attractive. And, you don't have an $8000.00 camera body. How'd you do that? LOL...just joking. I've said the same for a long don't have to have the best, you just have to have adequate. First rate photography here.
