Photos at Wayfarers Chapel, Terranea Resort, & Trump Golf Course

I love big wedding days that feel like an adventure. For some reason I’ve already shot five weddings this year, and they’ve all been pretty incredible adventures what with rain, rain, rain, a tsunami warning, and funnel clouds. Of course the good part about getting married during this risky time of year is that you CAN be rewarded with some amazing images if the weather is juuuust right. Dramatic clouds and dramatic light are so much more exciting!

Anyways this wedding day started at Terranea Resort, then continued to Wayfarer’s Chapel, and wrapped up with a reception at Trump Golf Course. …And Donald Trump himself dropped by. If you don’t believe me, just scroll down! Oh and our awesome friend Kacee Geoffroy did Suzanne’s makeup, BTW. Kacee is awesome! I said that already… Note to self: hook up Kacee with pictures for her portfolio…

I’ll pipe down and let the light and the expressions speak for themselves…

(Photographers- all images were made on a Nikon D300 and the following lenses: Nikon 24 2.8 AIS, Sigma 50-150 2.8 HSM, Nikon 85 1.8 AFD, and the Tamron 90mm f/2.5 (also manual focus) I shot 100% RAW and processed the images in Bridge CS3 95%, with a couple touch ups plus the sharpening / watermark for blogging. :-)

March 11, 2010 - 9:40 PM Patrick Pike - You KILLED it! The shot of the bride with the window is amazing (as is the arrest). I grew up in PV but somehow have never shot at Wayfarers Chapel, so I'm a bit jealous. You rock!

March 11, 2010 - 10:11 PM Andrew - All I can say is: WOW!! Your pictures are amazing. What is with the guy getting arrested? That must of been interesting. That was something else to see Donald Trump. Are you an apprentice fan? Anyways...amazing pictures!!

March 14, 2010 - 1:06 AM Matthew Saville - I dunno what was up with the guy getting arrested, the cops just followed him into the parking lot right when we were about to go shoot portraits, and they arrested him then started searching his car. LOL! And no, I don't watch much TV but I think Donald was there to shoot an episode of some other reality show he was doing. It was crazy to see him in real life though! =Matt=

March 11, 2010 - 11:32 PM Kristin - Thanks for posting these, Matt! It was a joy to shoot with you that day! :-)

March 29, 2010 - 9:25 AM Erin - Beautiful work as always. I love your "in-love" landscapes.... or recently coined "lovescapes". The are so photojournalistic and definitely your a master of them!

April 3, 2010 - 6:37 PM Forrest - Your kind of a bad ass, just sayin', nice set man.

April 4, 2010 - 4:18 AM Glenda Conner - WOW...just wow Matt! :0

April 16, 2010 - 8:12 AM Dan Fields - Hey Matt - Great work!!! I just love how sharp your images are.....I also love how you capture light....very unusual...just amazing. Please tell the story behind the iphone thingy setup? I cannot figure out what is going on there?

April 16, 2010 - 12:09 PM Matthew Saville - Hey Dan, The iPhone at the wedding was U-Streaming the ceremony for some family members that were in Europe or Australia. I guess there's a U-Stream app? The sharpness is all in the re-size and USM. Radius 0.2, intensity 400-500. (I leave the other settings at their defaults, whatever they are...) :-D Take care, =Matt=
